House of Agroecology and EARA

Presentation of the project

Led by the House of Agroecology (HoA) in collaboration with EARA, Unlocking Finance for Regeneration is an initiative aimed at co-developing innovative financial solutions to support farmers in their agroecological transition.

The project brings together banks, insurers, investment funds, cooperatives, and farmer organizations to rethink how capital can be mobilized not to repair environmental damage, but to prevent it.

Kick-off 24th September 2025

A first event took place on 24 September 2025, gathering over 70 representatives from across the financial and agricultural sectors.

Participants explored four key mechanisms to finance transition, through 5 panels, and 4 collaborative workshops:

  • insurance schemes
  • impact bonds
  • payment for ecosystem services (PES)
  • land acquisition funds

We now have less than six months to design and launch the first pilot projects in Belgium, to be showcased next February during our second round.
